Plus...I'm guessing they're probably breaking even these days...

The show is a huge hit. I don't know who is paying for what, but I'm guessing the network is directly or indirectly fronting most of the work these days. Plus, I'm sure a lot of the contractors they're working with are donating time or offering them a discount in exchange for the exposure, etc.
